The library’s Reserves Service is designed to deliver materials that are in high demand to students in a convenient, easily acceptable and fair manner. In most cases these materials are current textbooks and non-library owned audiovisual programs. Reserve items are checked out for in library use only. Library patrons are allowed to make photocopies within the the limits of copyright guidelines.
Upon request by faculty, the library staff will create PDF copies of materials, within limits of copyright guidelines. The electronic copy is then made available to BCC faculty and students on the library webpage under eReserves. Students find this especially helpful in the beginning of the semester, as it ensures access to the required reading assignments for the first few days of the semester when book vouchers or bookstore availability might be delayed.
For the service to be most effective, faculty members should make these request at least four weeks prior to the beginning of the new semester.
To place items on reserve, please bring the item and completed Reserve Material Submission form to the Circulation Desk.
